A well-run retreat returns lasting value far beyond the time spent. It allows directors to explore opportunities and come to agreement on, for example, just what results are sought from an organisation. What can it do to add the most value and make the biggest difference in the lives of its clients and customers.
The value goes beyond that. A retreat allows time for directors to reflect on matters that can set the organisation apart, such as the norms and culture that make their organisation what it is and determine its success. The philosophy, values and principles that guide decisions and drive achievements.
It allows board members to get to know each other and senior staff and their aspirations. To better understand what makes the organisation tick and to reflect on how to enhance and enrich the lives of its clients, customers and employees.
